The story:

In the Grimm version 12 wise women are invited to the celebration of the princess’ birth but the 13th is left out because they ran out of golden plates. Big Mistake. The princess is cursed and her dad thinks getting rid of every spinning wheel is enough so they aren’t even at home the day the princess pricks her finger. I’d be pretty annoyed if the king outlawed spinning and it didn’t even work - how are the people getting their sock yarn? In this version the prince doesn’t have to do much, just follow up on a crazy rumor, walk right in and kiss a sleeping girl. At least Disney made him work for it!
